It depends on a few factors. The distance between the base of your nose and upper lip is an important measurement to determine if you be a candidate. Also, the amount of tooth show "at rest" is another important factor. I would recommend making a consultation with a surgeon who performs the procedure.
There are surgical and non-surgical approaches to lip augmentation. Non-surgical approaches include botox (slight lift, reducing gum show) and filler (volume restoration). Surgically, you can have two separate incisions under the nose (italian), one incision under the nose (bull horn), one incision at the red/white upper lip junction (gull wing) or two separate incisions at the corners, or a combination, depending on your desired look and anatomy. My preferred surgical technique is called the Elelyft, which is a version of the bullhorn approach. The ideal candidate for the Elelyft, or upper lip lift, is someone with a philtral length of 13mm or longer, no upper dental show, and/or a thin upper lip. The nasal base to mouth width ratio needs to be taken into consideration to avoid leaving the lip corners down. In your situation, an upper lip lift would help give you a bigger upper lip as well as shortening the philtrum. Consult with an experienced lip surgeon for a complete range of options that are appropriate for your situation. Gary Linkov, MD Lip Specialist Manhattan
Hi, yes you can benefit from liplift. During the upper lip lifting surgery, the excess skin is removed, in order to shorten the vertical length. During the lip lift operation, an incision is made in the area where the upper lip meets the nose. The excess skin is removed through this incision. The look that you want could be seen after liplift.
Hello and thank you for the question. A lip lift is permanent, and although it can give you a good and natural result, I would recommend fillers first. If you are not satisfied with fillers, you can proceed to a surgical lip lift. I wish you the very best. Vasileios Vasilakis, MD. Fellowship-trained plastic surgeon.
yes you are but you also can do fillers . in find lip lifts can look very unnatural I would try fillers first. also add plumping and hydration (see emeragecosmetics lip essentials). Best, Dr. Emer.
You appear to be a candidate for a lip lift. A lip lift does 4 things: shortens the distance between your nose and upper lip, increases the mucosa of the upper lip, increases the incisor show and pulls up the corners. The procedure takes less than 1 hour to perform under local anesthesia and costs $3,000.Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.
Lip lift for upper lip-best with M type. There is no visible scar with this procedure. The triangles are inside the nose. With a Bullhorn there is a scar around the Alae which can be seen and can be impossible to conceal even when done by an experienced surgeon.
Greetings thanks for your question and photos, yes you are a perfect candidate for a liplift surgery to reduce the space between your nose and lips
Hi! Yes. Essentially what you are doing by moving your lip up with your fingers is shortening the white lip (the distance from under your nose to the beginning of the pink lip). In surgical lip lift, we remove that “white lip” portion, usually in a bullhorn shape to lift the lip the amount we want. This creates a nice even lift of your lip while hiding the incisions under your nose. Fillers can lift the lip as well to some degree by adding volume. All my best!
Thank you for your photos. A lip lift can be used to reduce the length of your upper lip. At the same time, it makes your upper lip appear more full. Lip lifts can be done in any adult. This procedure can be done without general anesthesia. Stitches are left for just 4-5 days. Scars are placed at the natural base of the nose so that they are less likely to be seen. They can also be easily covered with minimal make-up. Hope this helps!Johnson C. Lee, MDBoard-Certified Plastic Surgeon
Less and less surgeons do a V-Y plasty since the result is unpredictable. A modified lip lift is an excellent procedure to shorten the skin part of the upper lip, evert the lip like you are showing in the photo and increase dental show. When you have a long lip, fillers often don't do the trick...
Subnasal lip lifts, no matter how they are performed, have a very minimal impact on the corners of the mouth. This is a simple matter of geometry as the area of tissue removal is far inside from the line of pull from the tissue excision. Whatever minimal change noit can create may be enough for...
Healing can take time. Proper follow-up with your doctor is important. I typically start with off-label injections of a medication that helps with healing. Laser has been found to be beneficial as well. Best wishes!
