Would I benefit more from a V-Y lift or a bullhorn lip lift?

Question

I'm looking to have more upper lip show and shorten my philtrum subtly. Emphasis on subtle but balanced is my goal.

For your question and the photographs. 
Based on what I can see, I don't believe that the V-Y or Bullhorn lip lift would be beneficial in your case in consideration of the fact that your upper lip / philtrum does not appear excessively long.

If you wish to change possibly the dynamic of your smile, then potentially other solutions might have to be explored but it is my professional opinion that you are not a surgical patient yet.

I think fillers place properly to your lips, around your mouth and chin will give your face a huge improvement without surgery. if you want a lift you can do a lift as well.  start at home peels like cosmelan, enlighten and aerify along with dermarolling (MTS roller with anteage MD ampules weekly, see linkt) should be started now to prevent further aging.  daily hydration and plumping with lucy and co and restorsea lip magic should be used daily (see link).

For facial rejuvenation,  I would suggest a combination approach of 
1) skin care with products and PRP/microneedling
2) PDT light therapy few times a month with growth factors
3) laser treatments like clear and brilliant regularly and a few times a year Fraxel/halo Viva, Co2/Erbium
4) Sculptra injections a few times a year for collagen production with fillers like juvederm/restylane/belotero/radiesse/bellafill
5) thermage/ultherapy for yearly skin tightening with or without PDO or cone based instalift threads for lifting
6) botox every 2-3 months to stop movement lines and prevent lines at rest
7) deep microneedling RF like Fractora/morpheus8 for tightening of the skin
8) Vascular laser like vbeam/excel V or BBL forever young treatment every quarter (3-4 months)

Lip lift “M type vs Bullhorn”. Having done lip lifts for almost 50 years i never recommend the Bullhorn due to VERY BAD SCARS in the best hands. The M type does NOT have a bad scar by very experienced lip lift surgeons.
