Breasts changing shape after reduction. Is there anything that can be done?

I'm 62 years old and had a reduction and implants added for fullness about 2 years ago. I have noticed lately that the areola skin seems thin and one of my breasts appear to be changing shape slightly, especially in the areola area. My husband loves to suck on my breasts during foreplay and I'm wondering if this could be part of the reason. Is there anything that can be done?

breast reduction is best suited for women who wish to decrease the size of their breasts. While there are different techniques used to perform this surgery, I prefer the vertical incision (lollipop pattern) breast reduction technique instead of the anchor scar pattern, which reduces more noticeable scarring than usual. I also use a SAFE liposuction technique to reduce additional fat around the stubborn axilla area and bra line. This way, my patients are achieving beautiful results with minimal incisions which reduces downtime and delivers an overall better breast shape long term.If you are considering breast reduction surgery, you should consult with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your options and make sure your surgeon understands your goals. As we age, our skin does change and breast may lose some support. You could consider a lift and even a small reduction or going down in implant size to decrease weight of the breasts. Smaller breasts sag less quickly.  Don't refuse your husband his "playtoys."

Any changes in the breast shape should be evaluated by your surgeon to rule out any concerns.  If the areola is simply stretching you can consider a revision to improve the shape.  Depending on the extent of the revision it may be able to be completed under local anesthetic.
