I will most likely be getting a bbl this summer in Brazil. I understand the main risks of this procedure is fat being injected into the muscle,, causing death. I have a decent amount of muscle in my glutes, does this put me at risk//is a BBL safe for me??
Answer: Bbl for muscular glutes Thank you for your query. BBL , especially muscular areas has to be done very carefully and intramuscular injections avoided at all costs. Ultrasound assistance is very helpful as is the experience and awareness of the “danger areas” by the surgeon. Please find an experienced board certified surgeon who can examine you and help you with all your concerns. All the best!

Answer: My Recomendation Dear Vasselina24, thanks for sharing your concerns, more than the location where fat is going to be placed look for ULTRASOUND GUIDED BBL, so your surgeon can see where to put the fat avoiding the muscles. Make sure you go on consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon. Hope this helps and best of lucks. Dr. Luis Mejia

Answer: BBL Safety Considerations Thank you for your question. The primary risk associated with a BBL is a fat embolism, which occurs when fat is injected into or beneath the gluteal muscles and enters the large veins. A BBL is safe for individuals with muscular glutes, provided it is performed by a skilled and experienced surgeon who adheres to the highest safety standards. The key to minimizing risks is ensuring the fat is injected only into the subcutaneous layer, not the muscle. An experienced surgeon will assess your gluteal anatomy to determine the safest injection plan to create a natural and proportional enhancement. Some surgeons use ultrasound guidance to monitor fat placement, ensuring it remains in the correct plane.

Answer: BBL Safety BBLs can be safe for with muscular glutes as long as the procedure is performed by a highly skilled and experienced plastic surgeon. The primary concern with BBLs is ensuring that fat is not injected into the deep muscle layer, as this can increase the risk of complications such as fat embolism, pulmonary embolism, and death. A knowledgeable surgeon will know how to avoid injecting fat into the muscle and will instead place it above the muscle in the superficial layer, where it can integrate properly without causing harm. It's important to choose a surgeon who understands gluteal anatomy and has experience with BBLs. Answer: BBL is safe if the provider is highly qualified and skilled BBL is safe, even if you have muscular glutes. The important thing to consider is whether or not your surgeon is board-certified, experienced, and knowledgeable about gluteal anatomy so that they can avoid injecting fat into the deep plane of the muscle, which could lead to a fat embolism that would put the patient at risk of death. In general, when performed by a BBL specialist, with fat injection performed above the muscle, this procedure is tolerated very well and is safe.
