BBL SCHEDULED - Will Phentermine alter lab results?

Question

I’m having a BBL surgery on Nov 12. I’m currently about 30lbs over my normal weight, so I started taking Phen to cut some of it off before my surgery date, just 15 Lbs or so. I know it isn’t the healthiest way to lose it. Just wondering if it will mess up my Lab work?

hello thank you for your question and provided information as well.. based in your question its recommended suspend 2 weeks before surgery all suplements , vitamins, medication. its recommended discuss all about the theme with your plastic surgeon.

I appreciate your questions! I typically instruct my patients discontinuing Phentermine at least one or two weeks prior to surgery. Many plastic surgeons may recommend a longer period of time, with suggestions up to 3-4 weeks being fairly common. The primary concern with Phentermine when undergoing surgical procedures is the potential interaction between the drug and anesthesia. Phentermine has a variety of effects on the body, many of which can interfere with or increase the effects of anesthesia. If you do not discontinue Phentermine at least one week prior to surgery you might increase the risk of cardiac arrest and heart attack, hypotension or high blood pressure and hemorrhage, among other adverse conditions. Consult with your plastic surgeon about the use of Phentermine preoperatively and any other medication that might be contraindicated before undergoing a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedure.
