There are other factors to consider here such as history of lab values and other signs and symptoms. Sometimes a high white blood cell count is an indication of an immune system issue or an infection. The physician who ordered your lab tests be savvy enough to sort this out. Also inform your selected PS of the lab results as he/she will know the appropriate route to take.

An elevated WBC on it's own should not preclude you from having a surgical procedure. I usually perform a physical exam to ensure there is no focus for a minor infection and repeat the blood test with a differential (which gives me more information about the WBC's). A level of 13.3 is elevated, but not that much higher than the 11-12 count. I am more concerned with WBC levels with breast implants and BBL's as well.Dr T
