Had Juvederm lip filler 6 days ago and developed 2 lumps. Was told to massage. Why do I have more lumps? (photos)

Lumps are normal after filler. As your RN stated, massaging is the best way to get rid of lumps and they will subside. The lumps may have moved therefore appearing in other areas. Continue to massage to break down the filler as much as possible.  

Juvederm injections can potentially cause swelling and bruising, and this can last for up to 2 weeks after the procedure. I recommend waiting the full 2-week period until any swelling subsides, which will allow you to see the final result. I also recommend scheduling a follow-up with your injecting physician who can provide you with a formal evaluation. Many "lumps" will resolve on their own within two weeks of the injection date as they may be related to swelling.  If they do not resolve you can return to your injector to have them dissolved with hyaluronidase.  

Juvederm is a great filler for the lips.  Often you an have lumps temporarily in the lips.  I would wait for two weeks until the lumps resolve and in the meanwhile I would just massage the treated area. If there are still lumps in the lips after two weeks you can have Vitrase dissolved into the lumps to dissolve them.  Best, Dr. Green

Don’t worry, it is completely normal to have lumps and bumps after lip fillers. Like your provider told you, just massage them out until they are gone. If you are having a hard time getting the lumps out by massaging, your provider should be able to do it for you.
