Will I be ok? Want a Brazilian butt lift after getting injections once 2 years ago.

Question

2 years ago I believe I had 3 small silicone injections in each 1 of my butt cheeks. Fast forward to today, my health is great & I've never had any complications thank god. But I still look the same. I have been researching doctors in miami for a bbl because I still have a lot of extra weight & skin from having my baby. I have my eyes on DR De Jesus. But I'm really curious to know if anyone else has had a bbl after illegal injections without removing them & how are the results.

Patients with history of silicone injections into buttocks will have increased risks of complications in the case of fat transfer. Contact with cannula and fat grafts may create activation of dormant bacteria in the tissue around silicone deposits and create quite a significant, possibly dramatic infection of buttocks with loss of fat grafts, scarring, possibly skin loss. Even if some surgeon accepts to proceed with such a surgery, you should do it locally so that you can be closely supervised in postoperative course. Going to Miami for such a surgery may carry to much risk. Good luck.

The truth is that there is little evidence based medicine on the subject.  Given that you have had injections, you are probably at greater risk for infection and fat necrosis.  It is hard to know how high that risk would be. Safest path is to have the silicon injected two years ago removed before considering a BBL.
