I recommend 3 months of compression garments after mini tummy tuck or tummy tuck. Generally speaking, the garment can be off a few hours per day.
Hello. Great question. Every surgeon has a different post op protocol. Please discuss any post op instructions with your surgeon.
Your surgeon will make a recommendation on this based on their own practice and the details of your procedure. I usually recommend 3-6 weeks of compression with something light like a Spanx after the first 3 weeks.
Compression garments are helpful in controlling swelling and supporting tissues as they heal. It is best to consult with your surgeon for how long they should be worn, as opinions vary. They are most helpful in the early stages of recovery and should be worn continuously except when showering.
I would suggest asking your surgeon what he/she prefers since every surgeon has his/her own protocol about garments. For my patients, they leave the garment off at night after the first two weeks.
In my practice I typically have patients were a compression garment after mini tummy tuck for 6 weeks. During this time they can remove it for showering and short breaks while lying in the bed. I also generally recommend that they use other lighter forms of compression, such as high waisted Spanks or girdles, for another few weeks after.
Thank you for your question. In general we recommend you at least 3 months with your stage 2 post op garter to go smoothly through your recovery process. Best oc luck

Hello. Great question. I am sorry for your post op difficulties. I will suggest waiting six months for the final results, then consider a possible revision. Good luck with your recovery.
Hello. Great question. Congratulations on your procedure. It is normal to have swelling post op. It can take up to six months for all the swelling to go down.
Burning or itching sensations in the abdominal region following a tummy tuck and lipo is the norm rather than the exception. As nerves that were severed during surgery heal, pain is sometimes experienced in the form of burning, and itching. As your DR advised, this will diminish with time. Your...
Hello. Great question. I am sorry for your post op difficulties. You will not need to be fully under for drainage. Keep following your surgeon's post op instructions.
You may find yourself hunched over for a few days post op; this can be attributed to a combination of repair and incision. The muscles have been irritated to a certain extent by plication and the surgery itself. I only tighten the abdominal wall to return it to an anatomic norm rather than ti...
