 At 4 weeks, there is still definitely too much swelling to really tell anything about your results on the stomach.  I would keep in close contact with your doctor, though.  If you feel that the stomach is getting bigger, be sure to let him know as this could be an early warning sign of a problem that he may need to help you with.  Good luck!

Thank you for submitting your question. I am sorry your disappointed with your result. Your are very early in the recovery from surgery. In general, it may take up to six months for the swelling to subside and the true result seen for both liposuction and BBL surgery.  If needed, a revision can be performed after 6 months. Discuss your concerns with your surgeon. Best wishes

Healing after liposuction k is usually pretty straight forward. There is a process of swelling and bruising that peaks at 3 days after surgery and then undergoes the first stage of major resolution in the first 2 weeks after surgery. The later phase of healing takes place over the 2-3 months after surgery where everything really settles and softens. It is after this time that we are getting close to the final result, though this varies patient to patient.

Swelling after a BBL is very common. Your surgeon may be correct that all you need is more time since swelling last last for many weeks (or months) in most people. However, there is always the possibility of having a fluid collection, or seroma, that needs to be drained. You should see your surgeon to make sure there is nothing drainable, since leaving a fluid pocket in place can cause problems down the road.

You are still early in the healing process, it can take up to six months to see your final results, so please be patient. At the stage you are in, inflammation, discomfort and irregularities are normal.

Four weeks is too early to judge anything. At six months you may begin to question your result, if your belly is still swollen, and only then. If your surgeon was a board certified plastic surgeon who has done a ton of tummy tucks, she or he should be telling you this. We all want to recover instantly but that's not the way it happens. Please be patient and all will be well. 

Your abdomen is likely very swollen and it can take several months for it to settle. Best of luck with your results.
