I’m 18 years old and I received an FUE hair transplant of 3000 grafts about a month ago The recipet area seems to be a bit pink with noticeable incision marks (sometimes not all the time) and the hair falling. Currently I apply Minoxidil and castor oil mixed with coconut oil 2x daily. (The pimples came even before I started applying these) and I have been avoiding infections. My FUE was in India and I asked the surgeon about it but he always tells me it’s normal and give it a month to recover.
Answer: FUE donor area In my rather extensive experience in performing hair restoration surgery for 24 years, the last 10 of which has been concentrated in FUE, overharvesting of donor areas has been done countless times, usually to the detriment of patients. 3000 FUE grafts can not usually be safely harvested from donor areas, and what appears is that you have some shock hair loss.

Answer: See your local physician. The doctor needs to examine you to give you a better assessment of your donor area to make sure it is not an infection.

Answer: Is my donor area healing well? What can I do to make it heal faster and how long will it take? You have shockloss and you are too young to have your hairline lowered. You should consult with an ISHRS physician at this point.

Answer: Hair Transplant Surgery in Teenagers Great question.I have more than 30 years experience in hair restoration and I have never performed a hair transplant surgery in teenagers related to "androgenetic hair loss" except after burns, trauma, accidents, cancer, congenital, etc. In my personal opinion and experience, It was too soon (18 years old) to start your hair restoration and I have many more opposite comments about your surgery case but I will prefer to respect your decision and your surgeon's decision about your hair transplant. It looks like folliculitis (infection) of the donor area and if you can't travel to see your hair surgeon in India you should see for evaluation a hair loss specialist in your area as soon you can. Good luck.

Answer: Problems At 18, you should never have had a hair transplant. Now with 3000 grafts you have used up a great deal of your donor supply. There appears to be an infection in the donor area and donor site depletion. You should possibly get another opinon on what you had done
