Is it safe to have botox while using tretinoin cream?

Hello Annabel13,Using both Botox and Tretinoin is safe and helps with two different signs of aging.  As far as how often you should use the tretinoin you should discuss this with your provider.  The reason is that different skin types react diffierently.  Some patients use it every day.  Others have to space out treatment to avoid turning red and peeling.  I hope this helps and good luck. 

Yes it is completely safe to get Botox while using tretinoin.  If you are concerned at all you can always stop your tretinoin a few days before the Botox treatment.  Regarding how often to use tretinoin, I typically recommend 3 nights per week then increasing to nightly as tolerated.  You can also use a moisturizer with it to reduce any dryness.

Botox and Tretinoin are very safe when used together. A  retinoid , i.e  tretinoin , is an important part of your skin care regimen. Apply a small amount to clean skin at night and follow with a moisturizer over it. Initially, start every other night. If you have sensive skin begin every third night. It is important to use a sunscreen every morning as your skin is slightly more photosensitive. You should be using a sunscreen anyway to prevent additional photodamage. A good topical regimen will enhance the effects of Botox.
