I went back after the 8th or ninth day from having the treatment and my dr prescribed me eye drops lipodine .5% to be used 3 time a day I’m 39 years old and this is the sixth time I’ve had Botox in the same areas and had no sad side effects . I’m very disatified with results is thier any treatment to fix the droop
Answer: Botox Dear Gypsysaint,Botox is generally an on off switch for muscle activity. I get a fair amount of actors/actresses in my practice that are looking to reduce wrinkles but keep some expression. Finding an experienced physician injector is your best bet. Most of patients see first changes after 4-7 days and the final results after 10-14 days.It depends on the amount of Botox and area where it is injected but it usually last for 3-4 months.Daniel Barrett, MD Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery

Answer: Botox and forehead drop This is not entirely uncommon, unfortunately. There is only one muscle that lifts the brow and it is the same muscle that causes forehead lines. Because of this, injections can cause a lack of lift, or a drop, as you describe it. Iopidine is one method and an injector can also put more Botox in the opposing muscle group between the brows to help. For the most part, though, it will have to wear off and I find this happens in 4-6 weeks. Hope this helps, Dr. Sawyer

Answer: Droopy eyelid So sorry you’re going through this. I hope the eye drops raised it a little for you? Your physician is doing the correct thing in prescribing the drops. There are sadly no other remedies, nor is there a Botox reversal agent available. Brow or lid ptosis are some of the documented adverse effects that can happen with botulinum toxins. I tend to err on the side of caution when injecting and stay away from danger zones. This is because I know that I would be really upset if this happened to me! You might need to find a Provider who can answer the question clearly to you on why this occurs and what they would do to prevent it happening again to you. The only consolation I can offer you is that it shouldn’t last for the whole duration that Botox usually lasts in other muscles. I suspect only a small amount of Botox leaked to the muscle involved and you should hopefully have some resolution in the next few weeks. Best Wishes for a Speedy Recovery.

Answer: Droopy Eyelid After Botulinum Wrinkle Blocker This can rarely happen, but is typically we'll under 1% with experienced injectors. I inject both cosmetic wrinkle blockers (xeomin, botox, dysport) as well for medical reasons (blepharospasm). Sometimes we inject right above the eyelashes in the upper lid for these patients and the rate of ptosis was extremely low but no zero. Factors that increase it are hitting a blood vessel and bruising, more-dilute botulinum (spreads a bit more), and higher dosing (number of injections) near the upper eyelid. Some patients that are prone to a droopy lid have a mildly weakened eyelid that just hasn't manifested as ptosis yet until unmasked by botulinum. Good news is it usually resolves within a month but could last longer. No permanent damage should occur. The Iopidine or Brimonidine drops should help. Sorry this happened, but it should improve with time. Best regards.

Answer: Botox Complications it is unfortunate, but it does happen that people develop ptosis in one or sometimes both eyes even in the hands of the best treating Physicians. Your doctor is doing the right thing and you should be following his or her instructions. Good luck from New York City
