I see most dermatologists practice PRP after the laser treatment. This is my skin 1 day after treatment. Its type 2 skin and its not red. Just a bit darker and swallowed now.
Answer: PRP and laser There are no real standards to PRP and laser therapy. At our office we do the laser first. We use an ablative laser which opens small channels into the skin. The PRP is then applied immediately - the channels can close if time is given to allow swelling. We will also do dermal/subdermal injections with PRP as well if indicated. We then put a nice coat of antibiotic ointment on the skin and the patients are instructed to leave the PRP on until the next morning at which time they can wash their face. This allows maximal uptake of the PRP. Be well, Dr. M

Answer: Should PRP be done before of after fraxel laser? It can be done either way. However i prefer to do the laser procedure and then do PRP. The concentration of PRP should be at least 21/2platelet concentration if you expect good results.

Answer: Prp and laser It doesn't matter what order it is done. Both methods will be equally effective to help recovery and results. What is important is that the Prp be at least 2.5x platelet concentration.

Answer: Laser then PRP PRP is best delivered IN your skin rather than on your skin. Laser works by creating channels. In fact channels can be created by micro needling (Dr Emer has a video on this) followed by PRP. Personally I like this method of delivery. Lasers such as CO2 and erbium work well to 'channel' however char tissue my impeded delivery- especially CO2. For this reason I personally think micro needles, or better still micro needles combined with RF - e.g.. INFINI together with PRP maybe a better delivery system. The PRP platelet concentration ratio as discussed by others is also very important. all the bestDr Davin LimLaser DermatologistBRISBANE, Australia.
