i feel like i have some features of tuberous breasts, but when my nipples are hard i feel like the entire shape of my breasts changes. is this typical of tuberous breasts or just a result of larger areolas?
Answer: Tuberous or Not From your photos you do not have tuberous breasts, just relatively large areola. The areolar size can be reduced by a peri-areolar lift. For an example of tuberous breasts corrected by implants and peri-areolar lift, please follow the link below. Best of Luck, Jim Romanelli, MD

Answer: Tuberous breasts Dear cowboykarlos, tuberous breasts are not simply small or underdeveloped breasts. The appearance of the breast can range from mild to severe, and typical traits include: enlarged, puffy areola, rather wide spacing between the breasts, very little breast tissue, sagging, higher than normal inferior breast fold, and narrow base at the chest wall. The type of surgery best for you will depend on the severity of your condition. My preferred technique for tuberous breast correction involves a multistep procedure where the breast tissue is released in a radial pattern to prevent herniation into the areola and placement of a custom implant size is in the breast to allow appropriate expansion of the breast in the restricted dimensions. This can often be done in a single procedure but sometimes may require two surgeries. That said, it is best that you visit a board-certified plastic surgeon for an in person examination. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Do I have tuberous breasts From your photos it does not appear that you have tuberous breasts. If the size of the areolae bothers you can consider a reduction along with a lift that would also raise the position of the nipple. I've included a video on breast lifts that I hope you find helpful.

Answer: Breasts No, your breasts are not tuberous, but do sag. You would do well with a vertical or lollipop lift to lift your breasts and reduce the areolae.

Answer: Tuberous breasts? Dear cowboykarlos, The one feature of tuberous breasts that you have is large areolae with pseudoherniation of breast tissue into them. Yours is a minor variant. If it really bothers you an areolar reduction can be performed. But your breasts already look very nice and normal despite this variation. Good luck!
