Would I benefit from another areola reduction surgery and what can I do to ensure that my results last? (photo)

Question

Hi! I think my case is complex and this pic is embarrassing for me to post. I have had multiple procedures over time (BA, BL, subsequent areola reduction, permanent makeup). But now the color has faded, my areolas stretched out and I am left with very irregular contour. Can't live like that anymore. What should I do? Just permanent makeup? Or areola reduction again? How can I make sure the results last this time? I am even willing to have complete areola removal at this point. Thank you!

it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Based on your photos, it looks like you would need surgery and it can probably be done under local anesthesia. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.

I'm sorry to hear of the issues you've had.  From your photos it appears you can consider a revision of your areola reduction.  There are no guarantees that stretching will not occur again.  Your surgeon will examine you to determine if you are a high risk candidate for this.

A revision could be done and use only internal sutures. You will also need a permanent suture internally to help decrease the risk of stretching. the areolar tissue is very stretchy.

If you dislike the size of your areolas a revision periareolar mastopexy will reduce the size of your areolas. The biggest risk is that this recurs. If you dislike just the pigmentation and starburst pattern shape that the areolas have and want the areolas to remain the same size, then you would benefit more from tattoo. If you don't mind your areolas being much smaller then the irregular pigment can be mostly removed. See a board certified plastic surgeon for your complex case. Good luck!

Hello, the resolution to reduce the areola is viable in your case, but if it has recurred, we need a combination of techniques to prevent it from expanding again, for example Round Block plus Ribeiro, which would give an acceptable result. Consider this alternative.
