I received a breast lift with implants. I have a deformity where every time I move my arms you can see the implant. It is embarrassing. My surgeon said “they look perfect”. This is unacceptable. Can this be corrected?
Answer: Implant visibility is a common complaint Visibility of the implant is a common complaint from thin patients. It is difficult to tell based on photographs alone whether this creases caused by muscle contraction or simply the level of subcutaneous fat and breast gland overlying the implant. This would require an in person evaluation and receipt of previous surgical documentation. The way that we as plastic surgeons manage implant visibility includes deciding on whether to place the implant above or below the chest pectoralis muscle, implant size selection, implant type selection, and use of autologous fat in patients with little excess tissue. These are common procedures that I perform. Please see more information in the attached link.

Answer: Implants If you have little breast tissue present there, a fat transfer can add volume to help hide the implants. If you implant are on top of the muscle, you can have them placed behind the muscle to hide the edge.

Answer: Breast deformity correction To correct this deformity it will be necessery to replace implant, correct constricted breast capsule or place implant in a new pocket. In person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon with good reputation in breast surgery is recommended. Good luck.

Answer: Breast revision Thank you for your question. A large portion of my practice is dedicated to revision breast surgery. You clearly have a double bubble. It is more common on the inferior pole of the breast, not the center of the breast. This can be fixed with a medial capsulorrhaphy, internal bra, procedure. I wrote the very first paper on capsulorrhaphy. Best wishes to you.

Answer: Double bubble Dear Thoughtful8146, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.
