Bossae, able to be fixed with a revision? (Photo)

Question

I had my primary about 8 years ago and my surgeon for that is wanting to do a “needle shave” on the sharp parts of my tip, could this cause more damage and should I avoid it and just do a revision to correct this? I’m assuming I have what is cooler Bossae.

In our experience, nasal Bossa are occurrences in those people undergoing rhinoplasty with thin white skin and firm underlying nasal tip cartilages. This occurrence is also called the shrink wrap phenomenon. In our practice, we treat visible portions of nasal tip cartilage with microdroplet Silikon-1000 injections to permanently camouflage these protuberances. I hope this helps! Sincerely, Dr Joseph

You have thin skin and the folds in your cartilage are quite visible.  Be cautious about a needle approach as it is less precise and could result in a more difficult to fix situation.  This is a time where I'd recommend a revision.

The bossa are the result of your tip cartilages that have had some type of procedure done to them with very thin skin. A revision rhinoplasty can reduce the appearance of those. An in person examination and a copy of the operative report would be very helpful to understand what was accomplished in the primary procedure.
