Is a BA/BL typically 2 separate surgeries? I have a lot of loose skin form losing 80lbs nursing birthing 2 kids and heavy weight lifting and I’m 46 years old. I’ve had 2 consults so far. Both say OTM due to chest wall development. an anchor lift. I was 34D prior to kids currently 32/33 Dwith loose skin. I desire lift and implant want to be 32 D after 1 says ba/bl place 400 cc at once. The other says lift then 3months later implant I’ll need about 100cc
Answer: Breast Lift with Implants Hello! Thank you for contacting us. In your case, I recommend to perform an inverted T (anchor) breast lift with implants placement, to give you projection and have a better shape. The two procedures can be performed simultaneously.

Answer: 2 separate procedures if over the muscle; 1 procedure if under the muscle Over the muscle separates many blood vessels from the muscle to the breast gland. Reducing circulation to the tissue makes it riskier, a fact which requires the 3 month delay for the breast to develop more blood vessels for increased circulation. Under the muscle does not separate the blood vessels, a fact which makes it safer to do the procedure in one step. Dr. Ted Eisenberg, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and Author. Answer: Breast lift and implant together: How to make the right decision When the skin has sagged and breast volume needs replacement, the combination of breast lift and implants is needed. However doing these at the same time has certain challenges and there is a high revision rate. On the other hand you could say that staging them at 2 different times is equivalent to a 100% revision rate, with both operations requiring general anesthesia. Doing them together makes sense most of the time, accepting a 15% or so probability that something will need to be adjusted once it has all settled and healed. Many of these would be under local anesthesia.

Answer: Combination of procedures Dear sprkledbikini, I understand your concern. It is best however that you consult with a board certified plastic surgeon to determine whether you can have several aesthetic surgeries in one session, as this would depend on various factors including but not limited to your general health condition, the type of anesthesia that will be used, and the type of surgeries that will be performed among others. Answer: Surgery You did not show photos of your breast, so I cannot be exact. However, with 80 pound weight loss, you may have a great deal of excess skin. It is best to do the lift first, especially if extra skin needs to removed lateral to your breasts. Then, the augmentation can be done a few months later. If you do not have too much extra skin, then the two can be done at the same time. The procedures are separated if blood supply to your nipples is jeopardized by doing everything in one procedure.
