Hello! This is a great question. In my practice, I have found that the best way to help prevent the aging neck is to combine many modalities. If you are looking for non-invasive options, Botox can really do wonders. We can also combine collagen stimulating modalities, such as microneedling and laser skin resurfacing to help tighten the skin. Another great option is UlTherapy for lifting/tightening.
Botox can be helpful when the vertical cords seen in the photos worsen with gritting of the teeth. It's been called the Nefertiti Lift and I personally have been performing it for three decades already with gratifying results. If the cords and sagging are present and prominent at rest, then a nonsurgical filler necklift can be helpful. This consists of the proper injection of appropriate HA fillers to lift and recontour the neck so as to diminish the sagging and laxity. I have been performing this procedure also with gratifying results for well over twenty years. Both the Nefertiti Lift and the Nonsurgical Filler Necklift are very advanced injection techniques that should not be left to the hands of inexperienced, novice injectors accustomed to injecting Botox in the glabella region and using fillers for smile lines. You would be wise to consult an experienced, board certified cosmetic dermatologist and be sure to ask to see his/her personal before and after photos of nosnurgical necklifts. Best of luck.
Botox does decrease platysma muscle bands in the neck. It may be beneficial in your case. Good luck.
Botox is primarily used to treat dynamic wrinkles, which are lines that form from the motion of facial muscles. In the neck area, Botox can be used to treat platysmal bands, which are the vertical lines that can become more prominent with age. By relaxing these bands, Botox can provide a smoother appearance to the neck. However, Botox is not typically used to address issues of loose or sagging skin. For this concern, other treatments such as laser resurfacing, neck lift surgery, or radiofrequency treatments may be more suitable. It is essential to have a personal consultation with a board-certified dermatologist to discuss your specific concerns and goals. I can provide a thorough evaluation and recommend the best course of treatment for your individual needs.
It can help but won’t provide the same results as a necklift which is a more comprehensive solution. I hope this helps, best of luck !
Botox can be injected to help the appearance of platysmal bands in the neck area. Another option is Morpheus8 treatments to improve overall skin tone and texture. We encourage all patients to used medical grade skin care like Transform MD and to wear sunscreen every day.
Botulinum toxins may be used to soften (relax) the platysmal bands of the neck; however, they are not going to effect an improvement for loose or sagging skin (esp. after weight-loss, and given your age and ethnicity). The use of a handful of minimally invasive energy-based devices (the best being Renuvion, in my opinion) or open surgery (cervicoplasty or neck lift gold standard), shall provide you with the most meaningful solution. Do 'not' fall for promises of tangiblechange from HiFU (Ulthera or Ultraformer).
When people have platysmal bands, Botox is a very effective means of treating them. When Botox is injected into the muscles that are shortened and stiff, and become visible in the in the neck, the muscle relaxes, and conforms to the curvature of the neck better making the neck look more youthful. I hope this helps and good luck from New York City Plastic Surgery
Botox (Botulinum Toxin) can be used to help improve the appearance of platysmal bands in the neck. Platysmal bands are the vertical bands or cords that become more pronounced with age due to the weakening of the platysma muscle in the neck. Botox can be an effective non-surgical treatment for addressing this concern. Here's how Botox can help with platysmal bands:Relaxing the Platysma Muscle: Botox works by temporarily relaxing muscles. When injected into the platysma muscle, it reduces muscle contractions and tension, which can lead to a smoother and more youthful appearance in the neck area.Softening Vertical Bands: The relaxing effect of Botox can help soften the appearance of platysmal bands, making them less noticeable. It does not eliminate the bands entirely, but it can significantly improve their appearance.Non-Surgical Option: Botox is a non-surgical alternative to more invasive treatments for neck rejuvenation, such as neck lift surgery. It can provide a more youthful look without the need for incisions or downtime.Temporary Results: The effects of Botox are temporary, typically lasting for several months. Therefore, repeat treatments are necessary to maintain the desired results. It's important to consult with a qualified and experienced medical professional to determine if Botox is an appropriate solution for your specific concerns related to platysmal bands. They can assess your individual needs and provide a customized treatment plan to achieve a more rejuvenated and youthful neck appearance.Hope that helps! ...Lena
Don't harm yourself pursing issues that are not such a big deal. You are over filled. The perioral filler drifts out of the lip edge into the nasolabial area and lower cheek. If you have ever had cheek fillers, these also can drift into the lower cheek. This unwanted volume will make you look...
Hi mutedwater ! I would recommend to start with a little bit of botox. Botox will help decrease the intense lines. After your botox has set in (about 2 weeks for full results) if you’re still struggling with the dent , then I would recommend doing gradual filler.
If neurotoxins have stopped working you may want to turn to other healthy skin treatments for improvement. Morpheus8 combines RF technology with microneedling to improve overall skin tone and texture. We also recommend using medical grade skin care products like Transform MD and wearing...
