Had sex 1 week post breast augmentation. Am I at risk of complications?

I had sex with my partner 1 week post breast augumentation. I was on top and my heart rate accelerated. I feel instant regret and panic. I feel no pain or anything. Should i still be concerned?

augmentation, as well. An accelerated heart rate during sexual intercourse
should not cause any problems for your breast augmentation. Should you feel any
new discomfort, or continue to have concerns, I would advise you to speak with
your operating surgeon.

Thank you for your question.  Post operative advice does vary from one plastic surgeon to another.  I do advise my patients to take it easy for the first 24 hours and that they may walk as much as they wish for the first 4 weeks.  No lifting of over 15 pounds for the first 4 weeks.  Your description does not indicate that you have harmed your procedure.  Any increased pain or swelling should be reported to your plastic surgeon for evaluation.  Best of luck.

I tell my patients they can resume sexual activity as soon as they feel able. If you're not having pain you should be fine. If you have any additional concerns I would contact your surgeon.

As long as your breasts look okay and you don't have any other issues you should be fine.  However, I would run this by your plastic surgeon to see if he/she wants to see you just to be safe.

If you haven't noticed any issues with your breasts since then chances are that everything is fine. The things that sex would put you at risk for, most importantly hematoma, would not be subtle so you'd likely know if you'd done something bad. If you are really worried then I'd suggest booking an appointment with your surgeon to be examined so you can be reassured. Best of luck!

While most surgeons recommend against sexual activity in the near postoperative period, if there was no trauma to the breast, and you have had no symptoms, then there most likely should not be an issue right now. However, being reevaluated by your surgeon should put you at ease. Best wishes.

I would not recommend this type of activity so soon after breast augmentation, especially with you doing all the work. It does put you at some increased risks of hematoma and possibly wound healing problems. I suggest you talk to your surgeon and have an exam of the breasts.Best wishes, Dr. ALDO
