Is the bruising around my incisions normal? (Photos)

My right breast is doing great but my left is a little more painful, I'm 3/4 days post op I have a picture of my bruise from yesterday and today it looks lighter but bigger? Just making sure this is ok. The picture with the yellow hue around it is today

Thank you for your question and your excellent photos. Based on your time frame after surgery having bruising is totally normal. it will more than likely turn green than yellow. I would recommend using Arnica Montana to help with the bruising and the swelling. If you're still unsure I would recommend following up with your board-certified plastic surgeon to make sure that things are okay and going the way they thought they should be going. immediately after a breast augmentation procedure. At four days post-op, you
are in the early stages of healing and will notice bruises that turn a yellow-ish
color as they start to fade. However, it is always wise to bring any changes to
the attention of your operating surgeon. I suggest contacting him/her with your
concerns about these bruises, to ensure a safe and satisfactory recovery.

Thank you for asking. Bruising is variable from patient to patient and from side to side. If 1 side is significantly more uncomfortable and has more bruising than the other, patients should contact their PS to discuss. Minor bruising is usually transient and temporary. Best wishes!

Thank you for sharing your question and photographs.  Some mild bruising after surgery is not uncommon and as it appears to be improving likely all is okay.  I would follow up with your surgeon to voice your concerns and to ensure all is well.  Hope this helps.

This looks like a "normal" bruise. But please contact your plastic surgeon to make sure they are comfortable with this degree of bruising.

While some reason can occur with almost any surgical procedure. You should consider consulting you're operating surgeon to examine the breasts. This may be isolated bruising or it may represent a collection of blood called a hematoma internally which would need to be addressed. Therefore I recommend seeing your surgeon for examination.

Hi,  This does not look abnormal whatsoever and it appears that the bruising is getting absorbed with the yellow/purple appearance.  Of course, it is important to let your doctor know about it but this is a very common part of the post op healing process.  Having said this, it is important to make sure that one breast is not getting larger than the other indicating a hematoma.  Asymmetric pain post op is very common also.

Bruising around your incisions after surgery is not abnormal at all and there can be varying degrees of it. The yellowish hue shows that there is some resolution of the bruising. If you have concerns with regard to issue or outcome, you should contact your surgeon.Steven Turkeltaub, MD
