Question

However, I still get sore, e.g. after carrying shopping bags and using my handbag. I'm always careful and still not exercising or raising my arms much. Could carrying moderate weight jeopardise my results? I'm not in pain, more discomfort and it's gone the next day. I am hoping this is normal esp after exertion and on the dominant side. Am I overdoing it? When will this fade? No other symptoms - love my results.

Congratulations on your recent breast augmentation surgery.  It is not uncommon to be feeling the way you are at this stage in recovery.  Even though you feel great you still want to minimize the weight you are trying to carry.  I would change your purse to a wallet and make sure you are not carrying too many shopping bags.Allow your body to heal from the inside for at least 3-6 months.  Continue contact with your surgeon and make sure you have your follow up visits set.Best of luck to you !

Patients can experience soreness and tenderness after engaging the muscles of the chest after Breast Augmentation surgery.    7 weeks post op you most certainly can still experience some discomfort from time to time, but this should continue to get less as time progresses.  Good luck

Thank you for your question.It's possible that you are having nerve pain that often can take up to three months to resolve. I would not advise performing upper body exercise for 12 weeks and when you do, ease into it slowly.  Typically, the more you strengthen your pectoral muscles the implants can possibly be pulled up into an unnatural and possibly uneven position. Andrew T. pain is body's language to say that you're overdoing it. my advice is to listen to it and stop when it is getting uncomfortable. the symptoms will ease with time but everyone is different and so you have to adjust to your own needs and timeline

Without knowing your specific surgery (implant placement, incision, etc) it can be a few things. I would make an appointment with your surgeon to determine the root cause of your discomfort.  Take time to heal and follow your physician's instructions for best results. Good luck!

It is not uncommon for one to become sore after lifting heavy objects or increasing your activity level.  If concerned, see your surgeon.
