I received juvaderm in my upper and lower lip yesterday and my Cupid's bow is swollen and sticking out! I look like Daffy Duck! The swelling seems to be more above that lip line. I asked my doctor for a minimal natural look and this is not what I am after. Please tell me the swelling will go down :(
Answer: Will the swelling go down in my cupid's bow after juvederm? Thanks for your question and pictures. Moderate swelling after lip injections is normal. The swelling will subside and you will be left with a great result. Best wishes.

Answer: Will the swelling go down? Yes! The swelling will absolutely go down. The very next day is often "the worse" in terms of swelling but should subside within 3 to 5 days. Sleeping elevated and icing on and off will help. Please follow-up with your physician as needed.Best,

Answer: No need to be concerned Thank you for your question and photos. Your concern is not unusual and you will probably be happy in 4 days. Swelling after lip enhancement with Juvederm is not unusual; it will subside. Fortunately, if there is any reason you are dissatisfied, Hyaluronidase can be injected to dissolve the Juvederm. Be patient, because you should be fine.

Answer: Duck lips after Juvederm Hello leannewilliamson,It can take up to 14 days for the swelling to go away. It is not uncommon to have some swelling after any filler injection and the lips tend to swell more than other areas. Depending on how much you had injected the result you are seeing could be simply swelling or could be over injection creating that look. After 14 days if the look remains it is the product. In that case, you can request the injection of an enzyme that helps to remove the product. I would also discuss your concerns with your injector. I hope this helps and good luck.

Answer: Swelling (early) from Fillers I always tell my patients to not love their filler injections for 2 weeks. Swelling is very common and sometimes immediate. It can last 3-7 days and a good idea is to use cold compresses. Cold compresses may be used immediately after treatment to reduce swelling only if needed. This may be applied for 3 minutes, 3 times per day, for up to 3 days. This is best done with a bag of peas in a zip lock bag. Only apply light pressure to the area but gentle massage might be necessary. Get Arnica gel if you can find some and apply a few times a day as well to help treat any swelling. Avoid any blood thinners. Bruising can also last 1-2 weeks. I don't recommend hyaluronidase this early and wait a few weeks until the swelling has resolved. If it is persistent or you are worried, set up a follow up appointment with your dermatologist.
