I got lip injections about 2 months ago, and I have a hard nodule from the filler still on the left of my lip. Right where that spot is, I've been having persistent twitching and pulling muscle spasms. You can physically see my lip moving to the side on its own. It's always that one spot around the nodule. Is this normal, and will it ever go away? It's starting to interfere with my social life because people can see it moving. Thanks for your help!

Answer: Juvederm Swelling & Twitching Thank you for your question. It is unlikely that Juvederm has caused this. However, I recommend having the filler dissolved with hyaluronidase. Hopefully this resolves your problem. Best of Luck!

Answer: Twitching after injections Twitching generally results from neuromuscular irritability. This can be caused by fatigue, caffiene and injury, as from an injection as well as other things. It is possible that either the needle irritated the nerve during injection or even that the nodule of filler has caused it. As suggested, a trial of hyaluronidase enzyme into the nodule may help. Botox has been used for blepharospasm and even time may heal it. If your injector is unable to help then a neurologist should be consulted.
