On my right breast it kind of feels like its empty at the bottom like my tissue hangs of the implant, will my implant drop enough to fill it out? 300cc submuscular position 18days post op
Answer: Dropping of your implant Breast implants initially after surgery when placed in a submuscular position often give superior fullness that corrects itself with time, the "fluff and drop" phenomena. In reality the pectoralis major muscle takes a while to adjust its size to accommodate the implant as well as occasional muscle spasm which keeps the implant projection higher than its final resting shape. Additional variables include:laxity of skin, size difference during prior pregnancies, position of implant, size of muscle, and size of implant. As the muscle relaxes the projection of the implant often increases and the breast shape improves. Massage and use of a superior placed elastic strap can often make this process go faster.

Answer: Breast asymmetry after augmentation Hithanks for your question and photos. As there was some asymmetry prior to your breast augmentation, there will be some asymmetry following surgery. It will improve with time to a degree, less so if you have chosen polyurethane coated implants. If the asymmetry remains unacceptable to you after six months, revision surgery may be possible, but would almost certainly require scars to be placed on the right breast, especially if you would like the nipple asymmetry corrected. Your Specialist Plastic Surgeon will help guide you through this process, you'll be in good hands.

Answer: Will my submuscular implant drop? Thank you for your question. Your plastic surgeon will always be your best resource when it comes to an accurate assessment of your situation, advice, predictions, and/or meaningful reassurance. Generally speaking, breast implants will "drop" into the pocket that was created during surgery and massaging the implants downward may assist in the dropping of the implants after surgery (for those patients who want to help with the settling of the implants). The rate of breast implant "settling" may depend on factors such as size of breast implant pocket dissected, tightness of the overlying skin/muscle layers, and size of breast implant utilized. Normally, it takes about 3-6 months (for some patients longer) to see the final result. It is very common for one side to settle faster than the other. Again, best to follow your plastic surgeon for more specifics. Best wishes for an outcome that you will be pleased with long-term

Answer: Implants Thank you for your question and photos. At only three weeks post-op, your breasts should continue to undergo changes over the next couple months such as dropping further into place. It is not uncommon for the breasts to drop at different rates. As always, continue to follow the instructions of your operating surgeon moving forward in the healing process. All the best,Dr. ResultsMiami, FL
