I explanted 2 years ago. I had some internal scar tissue and a seroma removed from my left breast 4 weeks ago. I am still in a lot of pain. My nipple is numb but sore if that makes sense and I have awful pulling sensations inside the breast. I am so worried this won't get better.
Answer: Breast Scar Tissue Is Pulling 4 Weeks After Breast Scar Removal Thank you for your question. At four weeks, your body is pulling itself together and healing at the area of surgery. Maximum scar pulling can usually last for 2-4 months, but the good news is that it is most often temporary. The discomfort usually subsides when the scar tissue softens as it matures. Scars mature slowly over the course of about 1 year. Nerve function and sensation can return for up to 2 years. When the scars are no longer red or pink, then the maturation process is typically completeTo be sure this is what is happening to you, return to see your surgeon on a regular basis for check ups and reassurance.I hope this helps.

Answer: Pain after Scar Tissue Removal Our bodies heal with the deposition of scar tissue which peaks around 4 to 6 weeks. After this time the body will start breaking down this scar tissue for the next so many months. Therefore, if you do not have anything else going on, this most probably is a normal healing sensation. It should get better with time. Your nipple being "sore" may be hypersensitivity. If the nerve to the nipple is irritated during surgery, many people will have bothersome sensitivity to the nipple for a bit. This as well should resolve with time. If you have no sensation at the nipple this is different. Regardless, as time goes on the discomfort should get better unless you have a rare case of permanent nipple sensory loss.

Answer: #BreastImplantRevision - Pain and pulling sensation after breast scar tissue removal 4 weeks ago. It typically takes at least several months for the sensation to return, and up to two years. So, in general, at 4 weeks I don't think you need to be overly concerned that this will be a final result. You should, of course, discuss this with your own PS. Having a seroma two years following implant removal is a good argument for doing at least a partial capsulectomy if possible as part of the explantation.I hope that this helps and good luck,Dr. Alan EnglerMember of RealSelf100
