Will increasing my implant size bring my cleavage closer together? (Photos)

Good afternoon!You do have a large gap and some bottoming out. Here's what I would do-open up your pockets more medially for better cleavage, use the Internal Bra, my strong permanent internal suturing technique, to correct your  bottoming out which provides better upper pole fullness, and upsize to XHP 650-800cc!

Dear KG2302,Many women seek improved cleavage. Narrowing the cleavage plane can be done very carefully by a skilled surgeon. Moving the implants too far medially can result in synmastia or unaboob which is very difficult to correct. That being said, the right amount of pocket dissection and implant selection can create excellent cleavage. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon.  I'm sorry to hear about your concerns after breast surgery.  As you know, revisionary breast surgery will be necessary to improve your outcome.  Skillful adjustment of the breast implant capsules will be necessary to correct the "double bubble". Also capsulorraphy laterally may be necessary to help improve the appearance of the cleavage area as well.  You are correct that the use of larger breast implants may also be necessary to achieve your goals. Make sure that your plastic surgeon has significant experience helping patients with this type of complex revisionary breast surgery.   Surgeon experience matters a great deal. Then, communicate your goals carefully as well. Hi and thank you for the question. You can get more cleavage a few ways. First, you can use larger implants or a similar size implant but with a wider base (ie you could change from a high profile 400 to a moderate profile 400 which is wider but same volume). Next, you could use the same implants but open the medial (inside) pocket to let the implant move closer to the midline. You can also use sutures on the outer part of the pocket to help push the implants over to the midline. The thing you need to watch out for is getting improvement in the cleavage, but at the expense of making your nipples look like they are sitting on the outside edge of your breasts - the more you move an implant to the midline, the more the nipples can look like they are on the side of the breasts. I would discuss your concerns with your plastic surgeon. If you don't get a good answer go see 2-3 more plastic surgeons who have great reputations for cosmetic breast surgery. Best of luck.

Hi KG2302, thanks for your question. Just adding a larger implant is probably not the way to go to fix your wide-set breasts and improve cleavage. This has more to do with the adjusting the position of the pocket for the implant. This may be able to be changed, but a physical exam would be necessary to tell for sure. Breast implant sizing is a combination of current versus desired breast size, chest wall and breast measurements, and skin and subcutaneous tissue quality. To move your implants closer together, you have a number of options. These include changing your implants, capsular revision, or a breast lift. You should be evaluated for a No-Vertical-Scar breast lift technique.
