Ever since I could remember, there was always something wrong with them. My nipples went from being inverted to swollen and puffy by the time I was in development. I thought I was just flat, but bras never sat comfortably. I used to wish that I was a boy or just that I could cut them off. I want the surgery to fix them but I don’t know how I’ll afford it, I don’t know if costs can be covered here in Australia.
Answer: Tuberous breasts Dear Jessica3314,tuberous breasts are not simply small or underdeveloped breasts. The appearance of the breast can range from mild to severe, and typical traits include: enlarged, puffy areola, rather wide spacing between the breasts, very little breast tissue, sagging, higher than normal inferior breast fold, and narrow base at the chest wall. The type of surgery best for you will depend on the severity of your condition. My preferred technique for tuberous breast correction involves a multistep procedure where the breast tissue is released in a radial pattern to prevent herniation into the areola and placement of a custom implant size is in the breast to allow appropriate expansion of the breast in the restricted dimensions. This can often be done in a single procedure but sometimes may require two surgeries. That said, it is best that you visit a board-certified plastic surgeon for an in person examination. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MD Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery

Answer: Tuberous breast treated with modified Benelli You have tuberous breasts and I recommend a modified Benelli approach. Using a circumareola incision, your breast tissue is reshaped creating upper pole fullness, elevated higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. At the same time, fat transfers or small implants can be placed through the same incision. Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Tuberous breast and implants Hi,You do have tuberous breast and this will be regarded as medical problem by Medicare. The solution to your concerns would be a breast surgery to achieve 2 breast of the size and shape you desire.Being a medical problem it is likely that Private insurance would cover costs such as hospital and operating theatre, as well as some of the surgical and anaesthetic costs. You would need a consultation to fully assess the problem and the potential solution, and from there a cost estimate can be prepared. I hope that is of some helpJeremy Hunt

Answer: Tuberous breasts? You do have tuberous breast but THERE IS HOPE! You can significantly improve your breasts with implants but you may have to go through an expansion phase to get more skin to allow an implant to be placed. My best recommendation is to see someone with breast reconstruction and cosmetic surgery experience who performs a lot of surgery on patients with your type of breasts. It is actually fairly common to have tuberous breasts and lots and lots of women have undergone surgery and have improved their breasts so don’t be discouraged as there are good options for you. Best of luck.
