I know my boobs are sister and not twins. However I received a ba with lift 345 cc silicon under the muscle 7days ago. I was asymmetrical before the on my right boob. My right is settling down great after the po but not my left as much. Rt breast a bit saggy and not full. My right breast is soft and my left is firm. I have no fever, hot or tenderness on my boobs. Will my right breast settle down or need a revision with a slightly lift? L Or implant not placed properly?
Answer: Way too early to worry Thanks for your question and the photo. Congratulations on your surgery. Judging by the steristrip pattern, it looks like each side was treated differently. Without seeing a preop photo, it's hard to appreciate how much initial asymmetry was being corrected. Regardless though, it is very early and things will evolve for another couple of months. Based on what I see, I think you will have a nice result. Best of Luck!

Answer: Do I need a revision on my left breast? Thank you for sharing your question and photograph. At a week out from surgery your current results look appropriate as your tissue swelling is artificially maintaining your implants in an elevated position. Given further time your results will mature, rounding out the lower portion of your breasts and giving you a more natural appearance. Remember that this may take up to 6 months, in the meantime hang in there!

Answer: Too early... Congratulations on your recent surgery. It's too early to tell anything about whether a revision surgery is necessary. Early asymmetry with breast lift and implants is common and tends to get better with time. It actually takes 1 full year to achieve the final results so you should follow up with your plastic surgeon until then.Thank you,

Answer: Concerns after breast augmentation/lifting surgery… I am sorry to hear about your concerns after breast augmentation/lifting surgery. Your plastic surgeon will be best resource when it comes to accurate assessment, advice, and/or meaningful reassurance. Generally speaking, there are many factors that come into play when patients undergo breast augmentation/lifting surgery; it is certainly a more complicated procedure than breast augmentation surgery alone. As there are many "moving parts", it does take time (several months) before patients see the final outcome of the procedure performed. Some of the variables involved, include your anatomic starting point, exactly how/where the breast implant pockets were dissected, the type and symmetry of breast lifting performed and the size/profile of breast implants utilized. Again, for this reason, your plastic surgeon will be your best resource. Generally speaking, breast implants will "drop" into the pocket that was created during surgery. The rate of breast implant "settling" may depend on factors such as size of breast implant pocket dissected, tightness of the overlying skin/muscle layers, and size of breast implant utilized. Normally, it takes about 3-6 months (for some patients longer) to see the final result. As the breast implants "settle", the lower breast poles will round out, and the nipple/areola complexes will seem to sit higher on each breast mound. I would suggest that you evaluate the final outcome of the procedure performed approximately 6 months from now. Until then, continued patience and close follow-up with your plastic surgeon will be important. Best wishes for an outcome that you will be very pleased with.

Answer: Breast Aug - Too Early For Revision Dear Kindlyxoxo, You are much too early to make any determination regarding revision short of a frank disaster. Your breast swelling and position look appropriate at this time. If you feel one implant is higher or lower than the other early on, this can be influenced by the application of a compressive band. I recommend that you wait at least three months before being concerned. I hope this has been helpful. Robert D. Wilcox, MD
