Had open umbilical hernia repair with mesh yesterday afternoon. Popping feeling; could this be tacks from mesh separating?

Today I have a weird "popping" feeling in my core. Could this be the tacks from the mesh separating? or is it just the CO2 that they put in me to do the operation?

To definitively answer your question would require a physical examination of the tissue. You may want to see your surgeon prior to the next visit scheduled in two weeks. If there is any potential tissue loss, good local care could limit this. Hope you have a good recovery and enjoy your outcome.

Hello,The edema which your surgeon refers to is typical swelling and quite normal at 6 weeks. It is important that you not increase calorie intake over the next few months and continue to follow up with your surgeon. It looks as though you have an excellent result so far,All the best

Thanks for your inquiry, large fluid pockets are not common after liposuction, but rather swelling in the tissues itself.  I suggest you call your surgeon in Miami and discuss your options and best of luck.

Best to check with your back surgeon, I think a minimum of 90 days would be reasonable. Most back surgeries have very little blood loss and recovery is usually pretty quick. Make sure you see a board certified ASAPS plastic surgeon. Vectra 3Dimensional imaging maybe helpful. Good luck...
