Numbness and tingling post surgery is normal and can last up to one year. It is hard to tell if that is bruising or burning to the skin. I would recommend you see your surgeon and voice your concerns. If you are not comfortable seeing the surgeon who performed your surgery, try meeting with another board certified plastic surgeon for a second opinion. Best of luck.Jaime Perez M.D.Plastic Surgery Center of Tampa
Thank you for your question. The numbness/tingling is likely from the continued swelling and scar tissue that formed following the surgery, and should get better with time.It is a little difficult for me to see if these are burns, or residual discoloration from bruising. Those also appear to be liposuction sites that have dehisced (fell apart). I recommend contacting your surgeon for continued evaluation and a treatment plan, as your doctor knows you best. If you feel uncomfortable going to your doctor, I would seek out one whom you are more comfortable with. Best of luck!
Greetings. It is not unusual to have numbness and tingling after these type of procedures. The photos show bruising but it is hard to make an accurate call without knowing what was done. Just make sure to follow the postoperative instructions from your surgeon and go to your follow up appointments. Best wishes.
Numbness and tingling after liposuction is normal. It can take months to get back to baseline. Most patients go through stages of pain, numbness, burning, itching etc. From your photos it looks like you have bruising which is also normal after liposuction especially aggressive liposuction that is done as part of a BBL. The bruising will go away with time. Three weeks is still very early in the healing process. Scars are normal after the skin is cut. Depending on your genetics, some people scar worse than others. Scars take about one year to fully remodel, so be patient. There are things that you can do to make them look better. Talk to your PS about scar management.
