My surgeon that is revising my breast aug+ mastopexy to correct capsular contracture, lateral displacement and overall appearance is suggesting I exchange my 375cc silicone implant for 600cc to give me a more lifted and augmented look that I desire. While I don't mind an increase in size, I am worried that this will look ridiculous and give me a poor result. She said based on my anatomy, the larger implants is the way to go. I do plan on voicing this, but would appreciate advice. Thank you.
Answer: Upsizing Good morning, As long as the other issues are properly corrected, I see no issues with going up to 600cc and it will likely give you a much better result!

Answer: Revising lift but not larger implants Although you have had a lollipop lift, your breasts are still low on the chest wall. Adding 600 cc implants will make your situation even worse. I recommend revising your lift and not changing your implants but consider fat transfers. If you are having problems with capsular contracture then putting implants in after capsular contracture may return in capsular contracture. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Breast implants I would never go that large. Actuslly your result looks excellent and I think it's a good size. You can go up to about 450 you you want but 600? I wouldn't advise it

Answer: Large Implants Plus Lift In general, the larger and heavier the breast implant, the harder it is on the longevity of any breast lift. A large implant stretches the skin, places downward pressure on the lift, and increases the chances of certain deformities, such as bottoming out. The quality of the breast skin and tissues also comes in to play, and some breasts can hold larger implants than others. For patients who truly want a lift AND a significant increase in size (which 600cc would provide) it's a careful balancing act. Hopefully you can "try on" sizers with a non-padded bra and a fitted top and see what effect the various sizes have on your figure. You should definitely play an active role here.

Answer: Implant size Dear gnk8832, Breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. You don't want to invest time and money into a result that is either too big or too small. You should discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon and make sure that your surgeon understands your goals.
