How soon can I use an at-home portable radio frequency machine after smart lipo?

Hello doctors! It has been 15 days since my smart arms lipo. My arms are now numbs and i can see some bumps and definitely feel the lumps everytime i massage my arms 2x a day. My question is how soon can I use radiofrequency for skin tightening and is it okay if i massage it 2x a day? I can feel and see difference though every each day. Thanks!

Thanks for the question, I am not sure if you can get at home RF devices, I would suggest wearing your compression and having someone use a foam roller on top of it if you want to do something at home, I wish you the best!

Massage and compression are great for the lipo healing process, but DIY massage is frequently not intense or accurate enough to do the job adequately. Professional lipo massage done at least 3 times per week for the first month would be ideal. Skin tightening is a natural result of the lipo healing process and will occur whether you try to enhance it with any device. If your skin was extremely loose, however, it will not magically tighten regardless of what you do. Without knowing the details of the at home machine you plan to use, there is no way to tell if it will do anything good or anything harmful at any point in time.

you will continue to improve for 6 months after your Smartlipo to your upper arms. you should wear the arm garment, in whatever protocol your plastic surgeon suggests. you can add on massage. I doubt at home RF machine will do any harm, and i doubt it will be of any use. as a courtesy, you should ask your PS if he minds you using it.david berman md
