Hello,Being only one week out from your procedure the best recommendation I can give is patience! The bruising and swelling is going to take time. I do not recommend submerging your incision sites in water until the scabs have formed and fallen off, typically this is 2 to 3 weeks. You could add Arnica tablets and Ibuprofen to assist with the inflammation. The biggest factor will be time. There has been trauma to the surgical area and it takes time for this to heal. I would reach out to your surgeon on more healing instructions to see how they recommend handling your questions.
I recommend following up with a Doctor about aftercare following Smart Lipo. I suggest lymphatic massage, hyperbaric oxygen, and RF treatments like venus legacy to help reduce any swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
Hi andwelcome to our forum!Congratulationson your recent procedure...The procedure of liposuction is an"insult" to the soft tissues, resulting in swelling which willinitially totally obscure the operative result. Thepurpose of a compression garment is to prevent bleeding and to controlswelling. We usually recommend its use for the first 4-6 weeks after theprocedure. 60-80%of the swelling should subside within the first 6 weeks, with the remainderslowly subsiding over 6-12 months.I do not recommend the use of DMSO as it is not approved for use in the US. Epsom salts will not accomplish much. There is no catalyst to speed up the process of wound healing. Continuefollowup care with your plastic surgeon...Best wishes...
I think it is perfectly fine after a few days for you to take Epsom salt baths. you can start using Arnica immediately. The main thing to remember is that your swelling will go down regardless of what you do. it just takes time. You will also continue to improve for 6 months after your procedure.david berman md
Hi PreciousK, Getting in and out of bed can be the most challenging things following the procedure, especially if liposuction of the core area was performed. This is due to being sore in that area, and the garment restricting movement a bit. It is very normal to experience some discomfort...

Hello and thank you for your question. SmartLipo is ideal for removing fat in the neck and jowl areas. Since a facelift treats the skin above these areas, a facelift and SmartLipo complement each other very well and are often performed together with great results. Because they treat ...
