Compression is used over all sites treated with liposuction, smartlipo or otherwise, to help squeeze fluid out of the tissues and to minimize swelling. It doesn't make much difference whether you use compression garments, ace bandages or both so long as they are tight enough, but not too tight. You have bruising that seems to have localized along pressure zones from your ace bandages. This should resolve in a few weeks.
It appears you have significant swelling and bruising post surgery and this may be due to the compression or your healing process. Best, Dr. Emer.
Your recovery will need more time.Nurses often assist in surgery and will help with your dressings and wraps after surgery.Nurses are usually very experienced with this. You will continue to improve.
Yes, you need to have good compression after liposuction. A space is created when the fat is removed and the wrapping/garment helps to eliminate that space and help you heal correctly. Be sure to keep your wraps on for as long as your board certified plastic surgeon recommends.Thank you for your question and for sharing your picture!Melinda Lacerna, MD FACS

There are many different opinions about compression after lipo and each physician has his own particular bias. Compression may be good to decrease bleeding and firm the spaces from lipo, however excess pressure can prevent adequate drainage and lymp drainage resulting in fluid retention. I prefer just a spanx or similar mild compression and feel that is more than adequate. As for your situation, your swelling and all the bruises usually resolve over time so be positive. Good luck.
you want gentle firm compression. I have all of my patients shower the very next day and return to work the next day. david berman md

Judging by your photo, you appear to be a very good patient for power assisted liposuction. I have treated many patients with "loose skin of the abdomen (especially the lower segment) I would recommend that you find an experienced liposuction specialist offering a reasonable price.
Lipo and the medications used during the procedure whether it's done asleep or awake have no effect on gallstones. Gallstones are extremely common, but most people with gallstones never have a gallbladder attack (biliary colic). However, if you are symptomatic and have a scheduled...
You likely need a tummy tuck with scar release and fat transfering to help give improvement. A formal consultation will determine if something can be done. I am so sorry this happened to you. Best, Dr. Emer.
Further smartlipo on your stomach is certainly an option, particularly if you also have loose skin from your previous surgery. SmartLipo can help with skin tightening and remove the fat so you can get down to the level you desire. However, don’t forget that you need to exercise and diet, even a...
Male breast tissue is relatively vascular and the aggressive cannulas that are used to remove it can cause hematomas to develop. These harden, then slowly resolve over a few months. Don't worry.
