Can I do laser lipo (smart lipo) while having GB stones?

Lipo and the medications used during the procedure whether it's done asleep or awake have no effect on gallstones. Gallstones are extremely common, but most people with gallstones never have a gallbladder attack (biliary colic). However, if you are symptomatic and have a scheduled cholecystectomy for medical reasons, you should take care of it first to avoid the possible undesirable need to have it removed emergently while you are healing from a fresh lipo.

I would avoid any elective cosmetic procedure when you have medical issues, this should be treated first.  Also, I find that ultrasound is much more effective than laser for body shaping.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Theoretically there should be no problem combining gallbladder surgery and liposuction/SmartLipo. However, best to discuss this with your surgeons first. Due to surgical times and costs, you may end up paying more for the surgisuite than you would at the surgeon's office surgicenter so check on prices before your leap. Good Luck.
