Hello Dr. I am 43 years old and mother of 4. I have a big scar in my lower belly and big thighs and hips. Lately I am considering doing Liposuction and tummy Tuck. Do you think is a good idea? Thank you for your advice. Betty
Answer: It is possible to do this at the same time Yes, we routinely perform liposuction and tummy tucks in the same procedure in our practice. It is always best to book a consultation so what precisely is needed can be assessed according to the patient's desires and a most realistic outcome determined.

Answer: Combining procedures Combining procedures is common and considered safe. A tummy tuck and liposuction are often combined in the same surgical day. Schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon near you. During this important meeting your surgeon will examine you and will review your medical history to determine if you are a good candidate for the procedures. You'll also learn more about them and have an opportunity to ask questions.

Answer: Renuvion J Plasma Thank you for your question. There is a vertical surgical scar on the lower abdomen. Since there is no horizontal surgical scar on the upper abdomen, the scar on the lower abdomen does not have a significant negative effect on Tummy Tuck. There is a high degree of adiposity on the inner thigh and front of the leg. If skin laxity is also high, I recommend extra treatment for skin tightening. I recommend Renuvion j plasma after leg vaserlipoVaserlipo can be applied for fat in the hip. I recommend cellusmooth and fat injection for cellulite and sunken areas on the buttocks

Answer: Surgery I would suggest starting with liposuction. You may find after you are healed that your abdomen is good, or might just need a mini tuck. Liposuction would be helpful on your flanks and thighs. You could even have some on your buttocks if you wanted to be smaller.

Answer: Staging Thigh/Hip Liposuction and Tummy Tuck: Best Practices Hello nurturing127483, Firstly, I appreciate the thoroughness of your query, inclusive of your history and accompanying photographs. When considering both thigh and hip liposuction in conjunction with a tummy tuck, most plastic surgeons, myself included, typically advocate for staging the surgeries. Here's a suggested approach: Thigh and Hip Liposuction: Begin with this procedure, focusing on a comprehensive 360-degree treatment encompassing the upper, middle, and lower thigh areas. Depending on your specific anatomy and desired outcomes, you might require more than one session to attain your ideal thigh contour. Interval Between Surgeries: After the thigh and hip liposuction, allow your body adequate time to heal. I recommend waiting at least four months before considering the next surgery. Tummy Tuck: The incision for this procedure is typically positioned low on the abdomen. During the surgery, tissue dissection extends upwards towards your rib cage. The aim is to completely remove the vertical scar running from your belly button down to the pubic area. Additionally, the rectus abdominis muscles are sutured together, enhancing the abdominal contour and ensuring the pubic area is elevated and flattened. Post-Procedure Recovery: Recovery timelines can vary based on the specifics of your job. If your role is primarily sedentary, consider taking about two weeks off post-tummy tuck. However, for more physically demanding roles, a downtime of three to four weeks may be more appropriate. Remember, the key is to allow your body sufficient time to heal between procedures, ensuring optimal results and reducing potential complications. Thank you for entrusting your concerns. Wishing you the best in your surgical journey. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen
