What is the best treatment for eye bags caused by chronic sinusitis? (photo)

It sounds as if you are already treating the underlying cause of the bags so now we just need to find a way to diminish their appearance. I personally like a HA filler such as Restylane. It can fill in the hallow and smooth out the area under the eye. If that's not enough, you could pursue a lower blepharoplasty surgery down the road. My best,

The eye area is surrounded by many lymphatic channels. These are the channels that deal with swelling. If you have a lot of salt or if your sinuses flare up, you may notice that you are puffier. Over time, unrelated to these fluctuations, the fat which surrounds the eyes begins to come forward as the tissues relax, giving you the bags under the eye. The procedure to remove the puffiness is called a lower eyelid blepharoplasty. It may be performed through three small incisions on the inside of the eyelid. At the same time the above changes are taking place, the cheek tissues begin to drop, resulting in a groove under the eye. You may want to consider a hyaluronic acid filler under the eye. In my hands I prefer Juvederm Ultra XC as it lasts up to two years in this area for most patients.

This is genetic and can develop at anytime in the aging process. I have many young patients who do lasers and fillers to improve this.  Surgery is also an option.  Please see an expert.  Best, Dr. Emer.

If bags under the eyes are caused by a medical condition, the best treatment is to treat the medical problem causing the bags.  If bags under the eyes are not due to a medical condition, there are a couple of options for treatment.  A filler can be injected under the bags to help camouflage them or surgery can be done to directly address the excess fat causing the bags.
