Hi, My name is John P. My nose history is complicated, and after an accident left me with a collapsed valve on the left nasal passage, I couldn't breathe, sleep, or concentrate. Bloody discharge. Crusting. Infections. An inability to speak clearly because of the congestion and pinching sensation. But it was the pain – the excruciating discomfort – an unescapable pinching and pressure that made life so difficult. I couldn't live with this. Live was not sustainable under these conditions. Initially, I went through my HMO Kaiser, where their team of plastic surgeons trivialized my condition. When pressed further, these doctors ultimately confessed they said I didn't need surgery because they didn't have confidence in their ability to perform the surgery and were afraid of looking bad...or being sued. Fortunately, Dr. Chow did have such skill, experience, confidence, and talent. He performed the surgery in June. It transformed my life. The surgery was complex. He took bone from my skull and embedded it carefully on the bridge to open my nasal passage. He also took a video of the surgery to prove the necessity of the surgery. Talk about going above the call of duty. For the first time in 30 years, I can breathe freely. I can now enjoy life. Dr. Chow has since performed surgeries on several of my students — mostly cosmetic — and they rave about the results. I saw doctors across the country to solve my condition. No one else could. I breathe great, I feel great, I sleep better. There is not a wiser, more skilled surgeon than Dr. Chow.
Amazing experience. Dr. Chow and his team is extremely attentive, caring and responsive. Dr. Chow listens and helps guide you through the process to achieve the desired outcome even though I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted except to look more refreshed.
Dr. Chow is basically a time machine. I've been his patient for over 15 years. His approach of doing targeted but small tweaks over time has changed my life. My most recent procedure was a temporal brow and face lift done at age 52. Using a small incision in my temple he eliminated early jowls, crows feet, and he returned my brows to where nature once put them. The results FAR exceeded my hopes and look completely natural. I returned to work 10 days later and no-one was the wiser. My husband was the most astonished as he thought I really didn't need it. However 5 days post surgery he was stunned. He just couldn't get over how natural, refreshed and good my face looked. "He took you back to your 30's." he told me. That may be a stretch as seen via a husband's kind eyes, but I am still amazed at what a skillful job Dr. Chow did. In the course of 15 years I have had endoscopic brow lift, facial fat transfer, liposuction and the now the facelift. Each time, Dr. Chow and his staff have taken exceptional care of me. I am a licensed esthetician in private practice and Dr. Chow is the only doctor I send my clients to for surgery or botox/filler. He is not only a skilled surgeon but he is a compassionate human being with integrity. He absolutely will not do a procedure unless he thinks you are a good candidate and he exceed your hopes. He has told me 'No" when I asked him for things and instead asked me to wait a few years. He was right. Every single time he was right. You can trust him. That is what matters. You can totally trust him. His nurses Patsy, Debbie and Paula are awesome and Jennifer at the front desk will make all the paperwork, post op and appointments a breeze. Dr. Chow and his team are the best at what they do.
Dr. chow and his team are so wonderful! Jennifer always answers the phone like she’s been friends with them for years; she is really on top of things! Dr. Chow gives off a very relaxed energy, even when I ask him to explain something three times. He is very helpful and knowledgeable. I had my procedure over a year ago, and I’m very pleased with the results. My esthetician commented on my nose, as well, after I told her I had surgery. She was so surprised she couldn’t tell I had surgery. The feel and shape of my nose was so natural to her compared to other clients that had surgery on their noses, too. I live in LA, and I travel up to see him because I trust him, and I am very comfortable at his office. Thank you again for all that y’all do!
Dr. Chow and his staff are wonderful. I felt comfortable and at ease immediately. They listened to me, really listened, and help guide me through a tough decision. They advocated for me with my insurance provider, and were able to get my procedure covered. Post surgical care was fantastic as well. My questions and concerns were all addressed quickly and thoroughly. Also, i never waited more than 2 or 3 minutes agter arriving for any of my appointments! I had a fantastic experience, and would highly recommend Dr. Chow.
he is an amazing plastic surgeon with a great manner and his team, he is so professional and he really cares his patients achieve the look they are going for, and gave me the full confidence and completely change my life..
Dr Chow is an excellent doctor. He fixed what another doctor messed up. He is very compassionate and caring. I never have to wait. I get in on time or earlier. He listens if you have any concerns and helps you with them. I have never been treated so kindly and with concern as Dr Chow has. Thank you , Dr Chow.
Worth it! I had my breast argumentation and removal with capsulectomy with the same doctor. I had my silicon implant for 4 years. My health started declining and had the autoimmune disease after I had my breast argumentation. I didn't think my breast implant was part of the cause for the auto-immune disease. After I removed my implant, I feel lighter and brain-fog was gone right away. I feel less tired. A year later, I am off my medication for the auto-immnune disease. I would like to encourage people who has auto-immnune disease and have breast implants. Please try to remove them because implants might be the cause of your disease.
I have had lip argumentation by Dr. Chow 3 times now. He listens VERY carefully and tries extremely hard to create the look his patients desire. He keeps very detailed notes and bases each appointment on feedback from previous visits. Therefore, he can really tailor the results. The past two times he has done exactly what I asked for, a very natural look. The third time I suggested he just go for it and do what HE thought would look best. Of course, this time was the best outcome. It looked natural still but a very pretty shape. I am so pleased. He is very honest and will tell you what will look good and what will not. I am an esthetician in the East Bay and he is the only doctor I would refer as an extension of my practice. I consistently get great feedback from my clients. His office is extremely well run, he is on time, listens patiently and will answer endless questions until his patient feels confident to proceed. If you want you lips done and you live the Bay Area, Dr Chow is hands down the best person to do it.
I went in for a Rhinoplasty and could not be happier with my results. From the start of the process to finish the customer service that was provided to me, far exceeded my expectations. Dr Chow and Patsy really took there time with me and made sure all my questions were answered and made me feel real comfortable with my decision to move forward with the surgery. The receptionist Jennifer was amazing. If i had any questions she made sure they were answered in a timely fashion and was always very pleasant to deal with over the phone. Dr. Chow did an amazing job and could not have asked for a better end result. The crazy thing is I had NO pain after surgery what so ever. They did give me pain meds, but never needed it. The bruising was very minimal. After surgery I did receive a couple of Phone calls just checking up on me, which i greatly appreciated. I would recommend Dr. Chow anytime.
The aesthetic in a face is composed of all its parts put together. If you have an imbalance then it can be changed to improve the proportions in your aesthetic collage. Changing your weight can have an effect on the proportions just as surgically adding or removing fat. The difference is surgical sculpting can change the proportions in a more tailored way. I don't recommend this until you are at a stable weight. I hope this helps.
I would not worry too much but it is tilting to the right up high. I would give it a couple of weeks , but bring this up with your surgeon as he may have some suggestions to improve this in the short term. Dr. Chow
I would not expect a red/pink fullness in the skin to be present at two months or at two weeks. This is something your operating surgeon can address. You need to stay in touch with your surgeon and follow up as scheduled and call to schedule sooner follow ups when conditions require. Good luck.
definitely consult with your surgeon. If an implant was used , it would not be good to pierce the implant since it is usually in the vicinity of the anterior membranous septum.
Not easy to evaluate given the three pictures. I would like to look at the base view , from the floor up to see the shape of the nostrils to see if you can have the tip projection further out and at the same time draw in the nostril flare. if that can be done a low projection implant of synthetic or cartilage can be added to match the tip projection. With my transgender patients I look at the whole patient and how the best change in the nose would best feminize the patient. Such as in a taller patient a longer nose would be more helpful and the nasion could be raised. The picture did show that you have a gradual slant to your dorsum top to bottom center slight left to slight right. Be careful to have the doctor look into this as any dorsal implant would like bring this out making it more noticeable. My patients will commonly taper their jawline and chin at the same time. Hard to tell if that would be the case with you since the pictures don't show a front chin shot. Surgeons who have an appreciation for the specific needs of the transgender patient can best apply their skills to meet their goals. Good luck.
