If you had an umbilical hernia repair during tt and still and a team flap? Also I was told I didn't have a lot of elasticity and fat. So what would cause my stomach not to be flat after the tt?
Answer: Tummy The symptoms you are describing could be swelling. Bruising and swelling are normal in the suctioned areas and usually increase slightly after the removal of any tape or foam. The bruising will decrease over 3-4 weeks, but may last as long as 6 weeks. The majority of the swelling will be gone within the first 3-4 weeks. However it may take 6-9 months to disappear completely. The compression garment helps reduce the swelling, and the longer it is worn, the more quickly the process will proceed.#tummytuck#TT#tummytuckpostop

Answer: Post Op concerns Hello,Thank you for your question. It is difficult to advise you without knowing how long it has been since your surgery. You could be dealing with significant swelling, which is expected. You may have a seroma/fluid build up which needs attention from your Plastic Surgeon. Swelling can last many months post op and some patients find this discouraging if they are not expecting it. Ensure that you follow post op instructions regarding compression/activity restriction, and share with your Plastic Surgeon any concerning changes. All the best

Answer: Tunmy Tuck Post Op Hi Myreece1,I'm sorry you are not satisfied with your results. There can be an extended period of time where swelling persists. There can also be fluid build up, called seroma. This is easily treatable with continued compression. I suggest you seek an evaluation with your CS to discuss your concerns and possible treatment plan moving forward. Thank you for your question! Wishing you all of the best!#tummytuckpostop #umbilicalherniarepair #swelling

Answer: Why is my stomach not flat after my tummy tuck? I have very little fat. Thank you for your question and I am sorry that your tummy tuck results have not been what you anticipated. Depending on the extent of your surgery, and if liposuction was performed at the same time, your long-term results may not be evident for a year or more after surgery. This can be due to post surgery swelling, which spontaneously resolves and can be aided by the use of compression garments, or possibly the result of issues that may require some intervention, such as a seroma/hematoma/muscle repair failure/hernia failure, etc. Voice your concerns with your surgeon, and maintain close follow up.

You may need more time to recover for swelling to go down and for recovery to take place. You may have fat on the inside of your abdomen which may require weight loss to optimize your result. You may require liposuction to remove fat from you abdominal wall and lastly you may require revision surgery to optimize your tummy tuck results...
