Sculpsure applicator placement - Did she make a mistake, or do providers have success with this placement?

Question

Petite with small bit of extra lower abdomen fat. Sculpsure last week...technician places two rows of applicators horizontally between the c-section scar and belly button. I can't find any pics of this placement online (all are vertical). Did she make a mistake, or do providers have success with this placement?

The most important principle in applicator placement is that there is a sufficient amount of fat within the applicator so that there is constant contact with the skin and the laser head. Placement depends on what areas need to be treated and are generally customized to each individual. Your placement, to target your abs, sounds standard. In my experience treating the abdomen, the applicators are generally placed horizontally.

There are many different combinations that you can place the applicators.  The belly button can be avoided by using the little spacer that connects two separate brackets, or use the special bracket that has a wider gap.  As long as the brackets are fitted to get more "pillows", you should have great results.

The beauty of SculpSure is that it is totally customizable.  The applicators can be place in any configuration that the technician finds suitable as long as there is tissue in the applicators it will work.  Each person has a different body shape and size, therefore the placement and configuration is different for each person.

Sculpsure is body sculpting. Each person is different and may have different concerns. There is not one way to attach the applicators. Most providers get very creative how the applicators will be placed for each individual. The idea is to target the most amount of fat in the area of concern so the patient will receive the best results. Vertical placement is not always recommended.
I want to reassure you that your SculpSure provider has gone through and continues to go through training's so they can give the best treatment to their patients.

This is an excellent question. Most women have a groove between the hip bone and the central fat pad in the lower abdomen. If the width of this fat pad accommodates two horizontal applicators, then we most commonly place two horizontal pairs (one above the other) in the lower abdomen, getting great fat pad coverage.
If the person has a very narrow pelvis, and in trying on the applicators, the horizontal pair is too wide (overlapping the hollow groove in front of the hip bone), then we change to vertical applicators, using whatever combination covers the fat pad best. 
(BTW, two horizontal pairs cover more fat than 4 vertical frames in a row).

The placement of the applicators is at the discretion of the practitioner based on each individuals body type.  Horizontal placement of the applicators will produce the same results as vertical placement assuming the applicators were placed over the proper area.

The placement of the applicators are dependent on the initial consultation you had. At that time they would have determined the best applicator placement. The direction of the applicators( horizontal or vertical) are done for the maximum fat destruction. This depends on the skills of the practitioner and the individual sizes to be treated. Both are fine as long as you are properly fitted. Both work if they cover the area to be treated and not directly over the belly button.
