I got SculpSure on my stomach, now my thighs are not fitting into the same jeans and work pants I’ve had for years. Help!

It takes 3-6 months for final results with Sculpsure. You will have swelling, which can move down towards gravity. I recommend lymphatic massage along with your compression to decrease swelling. A combination of treatments is needed for best results with Sculpsure. I recommend combining Sculpsure with Vanquish and Venus Legacy/Exilis Ultra treatments. However, a VASER hi definition procedure would give you the best results with fat removal and shaping for the thighs but would require more downtime. Best, Dr. Emer

Sculpsure is a non invasive laser that destoys fat cells in the area treated. Swelling does occur and may last a few months. Final results are not seen for up to 6 months. Fat will not shift from one area to another. The swelling in your thighs could be due to a number of factors, but unlikely due to your treatment. Please see your treating doctor to go over your concerns.

After Sculpsure the fat in the area of treatment is damaged and those fat cells are naturally removed from your body through your lymphatic system. It is possible that now you are gaining your fat in you thighs which were not treated. You may want to try diet, exercise and/ Sculpsure for the thigh area. 

Thank you for your question. SculpSure destroys upto 24% of fat in that treated area, in your case the abdomen. The fat is eliminated through the lymphatic system, and does not redistribute to another area. I recommend you see your treating physician for an evaluation. They should have your initial weight. If you gained a significant amount of weight, like 10%, the extra fat will not be to your abdominal area but it can go elsewhere. It is very important to maintain your weight after SculpSure. Hello and thank you for your question. During your SculpSure treatment, the treated fat cells are being destroyed they are not being shifted to another area. It takes a full 12 weeks to determine your results at which time all the swelling will have subsided.Be patient and allow your body to heal.

It is just a wive's tale that if you remove fat from one area of the body, then the fat increases in other areas of the body.  We are all born with a finite amount of fat cells in our body, as we gain and lose weight those cells increase and decrease in size.  If you have a procedure to remove or destroy the fat cells (tummy tuck, liposuction, SculpSure, CoolSculpting) those fat cells are gone forever.  But, there are still plenty of fat cells left over in the same area, if you gain or lose weight the treated areas will still fluctuate in size. The fat will not redistribute to other areas of the body.

First thing: fat is not mobile in that way. Sculpture works by killing the fat cells in a specific area, not by moving it to another area. If you get "bigger" in an area, it's likely due to weight gain, edema, or another medical condition, not as a result of the laser treatment.
Certainly, there can be some swelling after a Sculpture treatment, but this is temporary and should resolve within a couple weeks.
If you feel like other area have enlarged, I would see if that's perhaps due to a weight gain. See if the office took your weight before starting treatment, and got back to the same scale to re-weigh yourself.
The other thing that might be helpful is to go in for your "after" photos, and compare them with the photos they took before you initiated treatment. The pictures may tell another story, and that may help to reassure you.
