A flattened nose is fairly common ethnic anatomic variant. Often times when patients want this changed an onlay graft to some type is useful. Video imaging is an excellent way to determine what you're after and whether that can be accomplished in the operating room.
Your frontal photos may reveal a broad and flat nasal appearance. You may have several options, depending on your condition. You may consider rhinoplasty surgery for narrowing of your bridge, tip, and nostrils. Or, you may consider an open reduction of your nasal fracture which may provide narrowing of your nasal bridge. A thorough internal and external examination of the nose will be required to make a determination about how best to proceed. X-rays may also be required to document the extent of the fracture. Trauma to the nose can cause a variety of issues such as a fractured and displaced nasal bones, a non-displaced nasal fracture, a dislocation of the nasal cartilages off the nasal bones, or a deviated septum. All of this must be sorted out at the time of examination and consultation.
