I have fluid on my back and stiffness. I have been getting massages 2-3 times per week but I do not feel the fluids are decreasing. Am I supposed to be urinating the fluids out? I am stiff and swollen in my arms, back and tummy. I do not know what exactly I need to do bc this is painful.
Answer: How can I get the fluids out 25 days post op? It is important to keep in mind that at just over 3 weeks out from your procedures, you are still going to be very swollen and stiff and sometimes it just takes time for this to resolve. Many plastic surgeons use compression garments to help decrease swelling and patient compliance with wearing them, even if they can be uncomfortable, is important. Massaging the tissue at this early phase could potentially keep re-injuring freshly injured tissue, so check with your plastic surgeon about whether you should continue this. Many of our BBL and lipo patients report that Ibuprofen can often be more helpful with the pain and swelling after these procedures than a narcotic, so again check with your plastic surgeon. You should notice a big improvement in your swelling over the next 3 weeks or so, but it could take up to 6 months for the vast majority of the swelling to subside. Best of luck with your continued recovery!

Answer: How can I get the fluid out after surgery Thank you for the question the amount of fluid retention varies by the type and duration of surgeries. In my experience Liposuction particular tends to have swelling that lingers. I have prescribed LPG for my post Liposuction patients and that has been helpful. good luck, it sounds like you’re doing all the right things. The only other thing potential he to ask your surgeon is to make sure that this is just swelling in the tissue versus a fluid collection called a seroma. You would have to treat a seroma differently

Answer: Today I am 25 days post op. I had TT, BBL, MR and Lipo. How can I get the fluids out of my back? Hi. You had a lot of surgery with those combined procedures so it is to be expected to have a fair amount of swelling. However that can vary from person to person in terms of amount and duration. I would recommend getting in to see your hopefully board-certified plastic surgeon. He or she can assess you and give you appropriate advice. Good luck and take, Dr. Howell
