Implant removal - is it possible to get this on medicaid?

There is more to breast implant removal than just removing the implants. Please do your homework and find a surgeon that will remove 100% of the capsules as well. A true surgeon who believes in BII is a surgeon who does not augment. Unfortunately, I do not know of any surgeons that perform the surgery properly, do not augment, and accept medicaid insurance for the procedure.

You will have to call several plastic surgeon offices to see if they can help you with this problem. In most cases, if the implant is ruptured, the insurance company will cover this. If there is a county hospital, they also might be willing to accept you. You might also consider a financing plan that can help you.

At times insurance will cover implant removal if they are ruptured. Otherwise, removal is generally not covered. You may have luck going through a company that specializes in financing of medical procedures such as PatientFi or CareCredit.

Since implants were placed for cosmetic reasons, most insurance companies, including Medicaid will not cover removal. If you have gel implants and they are ruptured, Medicaid might cover removal.

Removing implants is fairly straightforward and simple.
Insurance will cover the removal of implants if you have documented diagnosis codes that weren’t the removal of the implants.
Typically capsular contraction is sufficient.
Your medical coverage should have the ability to find providers or contracted. It may be a bureaucratic network, but you should be able to call and find providers who have signed up to accept that coverage.
Consider looking for plastic surgeons who work at academic medical centers if you have a medical school in your area. Plastic surgeons takeoff at major trauma centers typically are contracted to take all forms of government medical coverage.
