I'm looking to get a Mommy Makeover (Tummy Tuck, Breast Lift, & Breast Augmentation) with some front Lipo for sure. My question is, what can I safely combine for the best results while being safe & having a good recovery? Can I safely do Arm Lipo with Renuvion or something similar? What about Lipo 360 and filling in the Side Hip Butt Dips? What is considered a safe vs excessive amount of surgery time? 45, female, Clean medical history, No drinking/smoking, 62", weight 147lbs
Answer: When Combining Surgery — Safety Isn’t Just About Time Limits Dear Realselfplastic. In my practice, surgical planning is always guided by patient safety and individualized anatomy. My general philosophy is to keep elective aesthetic surgeries within 6 hours of operative time — I do not plan surgeries beyond that time frame, except in very specific reconstructive cases. This is supported by evidence from studies like Wong et al. (Aesthetic Surgery Journal, 2015), which found that while the risk of complications starts to increase after 3 hours, the risk rises significantly after 6.8 hours of surgery. In your particular case, the decision to proceed with a circular tummy tuck (belt lipectomy) would ultimately depend on a detailed physical examination. However, based on the pictures you provided, I can already see there is some degree of ptosis (sagging) in the buttock area, and a circular lipectomy is a very powerful procedure that allows us to improve not only the abdominal contour but also lift and reshape the gluteal region in the same operation. My recommendation would be to address the abdomen, perform 360° liposuction with fat transfer to the hips, and complete the breast procedure in the first stage — staying within a safe surgical time. Then, in a second stage, I would recommend a short-scar brachioplasty (arm lift) combined with liposuction and skin tightening technology (such as BodyTite or Renuvion) to improve the arms and anterior torso contour. Beyond surgical time considerations, combining abdominoplasty with arm surgery creates a very difficult recovery because after a tummy tuck, patients need to avoid engaging the abdominal muscles — relying heavily on the arms to sit up, stand, and support movement. If the arms are also healing from surgery, this limits mobility significantly and increases the risk of wound healing problems. Staging these procedures allows us to maximize safety, optimize recovery, and achieve the best possible aesthetic results.

Answer: Thank you for your question! The first step is having good health, if your hemoglobin permits it and all your lab work is OK. It is safe to combine multiple surgeries. It would depend as well. All your medical history to know if you’ve lost weight, pregnancies, weight, fluctuation, previous surgeries in order to determine what the best type of tummy tuck would be , after that, depending on the type that you are candidate for be able to know if section can be combined, for instance, if you’re candidate for a lower body lift, also known as circular tummy, tuck liposuction would not be a good option as it can compromise your circulation. Regarding the weight loss as well is important to know to see if what you would need instead of arm Liposuction and Renuvion is perhaps an Arm Lift, but those procedures all in all are good combination and are definitely able to be done together.

Answer: Do the Mommy Makeover with energy based skin tightening, then assess for arm lift Assuming you are in good health and able to obtain medical clearance, you should be able to undergo mommy makeover with a tummy tuck and breast procedure. My recommendation would be to do liposuction with Renuvion or Bodytite for your arms so that you do not add a large arm incision which will limit your post-op mobility that is important in getting up and preventing blood clots after surgery. I would do the mommy makeover, see how the arms heal from liposuction and energy-based skin tightening, and if there is any laxity at 6 months you can consider an arm lift. As always, make sure to consult with a board certified plastic surgeon regarding your individual case.

Answer: Combination of procedures Dear Realselfplastic, I understand your concern. It is best however that you consult with a board certified plastic surgeon to determine whether you can have several aesthetic surgeries in one session, as this would depend on various factors including but not limited to your general health condition, the type of anesthesia that will be used, and the type of surgeries that will be performed among others.
