By reviewing your pictures, the surgery that would definitely help you and give you the best possible outcome would be an extended Arm Lift . This would remove successfully all the excess game that you have in addition to doing some liposuction to loosen the skin. If you only did liposuction, the skin would not retract. It would only further sag and not give you the results that you’re looking for you’re an accident candidate for a brachioplasty.
Thank you for your inquiry! Liposuction alone would increase your skin laxity. You have excess skin, brachioplasty removes the skin. We would love to sit down with you and discuss with you in details your options. Schedule a consultation with a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon to discuss your goals.
Given your young age, I think liposuction alone will be a good treatment with significant improvement. Your skin is youthful and will retract nicely. Thank you.
At your age, the chances are good that you will have skin retraction following liposuction. Unfortunately, if the skin does not retract, you may still need to have a formal brachioplasty, or arm lift, but I would not jump straight to that based on your age and the appearance that I can see in the photos.
Thank you for your question regarding whether you need an arm lift, arm reduction, brachioplasty, or arm liposuction. With your pictures, you need an arm lift, arm reduction, or brachioplasty. If you did an arm liposuction, you would be left with a significant amount of redundant or extra arm skin. This skin would not retract after just arm liposuction. Therefore, you need brachioplasty. During your brachioplasty, I would perform arm liposuction and an incision from the armpit to the elbow. Excess skin and fat would be directly removed. The procedure takes approximately 3-4 hours. The brachioplasty is performed under general anesthesia. I do not use drains for the brachioplasty. Please plan on a two-week recovery after your brachioplasty. Please plan to take off two weeks of work. If your work entails significant lifting, I will take 3-4 weeks off to recover from your brachioplasty. I hope this helps answer your question regarding whether you need an arm lift, arm reduction, brachioplasty, or arm liposuction. If you have any more questions regarding the arm lift, arm reduction, brachioplasty or arm crease fat grafting, please contact my office. Since a brachioplasty or arm lift surgery is a difficult procedure, please seek an experienced, board certified plastic surgeon with significant experience performing these types of arm lifts. Do your research. Make sure your chosen plastic surgeon has performed at least 100 arm lifts. Make sure they have the before and after pictures to prove it. Carefully examine their before and after pictures and check their reviews on RealSelf. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen. Hello. Most times when I preform Brachioplasty surgery lipo suction is almost always included in the procedure. From the looks of your photos I believe you also will require both procedures.Best of Luck,Dr. Julia Spears
Dear EveJay999,it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Based on your photos, it looks like you would benefit from arm lift. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
At your age, I would suggest liposuction with radiofrequency skin tightening like Renuvion to help tighten the skin.
Thank you for sharing your photos and for your question. I would need to examine you to best answer your question. From your photos you appear to have excess fat and some skin laxity. Liposuction would help reduce the fat. I use a combination of liposuction techniques, including SmartLipo laser liposuction and ultrasonic liposuction using very fine cannulas inserted through small incisions to contour and resculpture the arms with minimal scarring. Liposuction can cause some skin tightening and because you appear to have good skin quality in your photos, you may not require skin excision. An in-person examination would be helpful in determining this. If you have a lot of loose skin, you may benefit from an arm lift (brachioplasty), as well. In this procedure, the lax or loose skin is removed and the remaining tissue is tightened to recontour your arm. I perform these procedures in my fully-accredited operating room under IV sedation administered by board-certified anesthesiologists as an outpatient procedure. Following surgery, you will have to wear a compression garment, but many patients find they can return to work after a week. I suggest you make an appointment with a fully-trained plastic surgeon to discuss what treatments are right for you.
Looking at your photos, there seems to be excess skin and fat on the arms. So that you are aware, as you lose weight, the skin will deflate and hang more. But this is not necessarily a bad thing. It is always easier to operate on loose skin than on tight skin. A combination of liposuction and arm lift would address the excess fatty tissue and skin.
There are no magical creams that will tighten loose skin. However, radiofrequency treatments with micro -needling like Morpheus can be very helpful.
Yes, an arm lift can be done. However, I would suggest liposuction with radiofrequency skin tightening like Renuvion would be a better choice and with a tiny scar.
For you, I would suggest liposuction to remove the excess fat combined with radiofrequency skin tightening like Renuvion which gives good results with small scars.
