Thanks for asking. Mammograms are still possible even with capsular contracture. Letting your provider and tech know your situation will help. Sometimes MRI is used in breast evaluation. If a patient does have a grade IV contracture, she should see a plastic surgeon for the surgical options for taking care of it. Best wishes
It's not impossible, but it can be painful. If its totally necessary to have it done due to insurance not paying for MRI, I would suggest your doctor giving you a valium just to relax you so its not that painful for you. I would recommend an MRI if possible.
Mammograms can be safely and efficiently perfomed on breasts with implants, even with capsular contracture. It is important to let the mammogram technician know that you have breast implants in place before the mammogram. It does change the technique of the mammogram because they must "look around" the implant to get adequate images. Also, you don't want your implant to be ruptured by the mammographer. If you truly have a grade IV capsular contracture, then you should consider removing the capsule to alleviate the symptoms.Good Luck!

It sounds like you do have a tubular breast deformity. Your breasts will likely continue to mature but may not really change with regard to shape. You might consider surgery when you are 18.
