For gynecomastia surgery which will involve gland removal and lippo, the doctor is recommending general anesthesia instead of local. He informed that the local anesthetic could present more harm as the amount needed is significant and could be toxic. Thoughts on general vs. Local?

Answer: Gynecomastia surgery anesthesia I agree with your surgeon. I do all my gynecomastia procedures under general anesthesia in an out patient setting. This is a significant procedure and would not want have local and your surgeon perhaps not aggressively correct your gynecomastia by trying to keep you comfortable. Good luck.
